Gatwick Airport South Terminal
As the airport’s oldest standing terminal, the South Terminal dates back to 1958 and currently serves around 16.5million passengers each year. It has 187 check-in desks, which process travellers boarding around 121,000 flights annually. Like the newer North Terminal, the South has recently benefited from a major upgrade in facilities. Improvements at the South Terminal include a new forecourt, redesigned security area with 19 lanes and a dedicated entrance for passengers with disabilities and those travelling with small children. An all-new premium lane was also introduced for first class and business flyers. Shopping and dining facilities were improved, too.
